Acadia National
Park

One of my stops
on that gloomy and cold Saturday was this beach. If I remember, it is
on the southside of the island. I believe it is Sand Beach, but am not
sure.

Since it is
now sunny, this must be Sunday. And it was. I have many pictures that
are very similar to this; pictures of various fingers of land jutting
out into the sea and sea surrounding those fingers. The sun is always
reflected brightly off the water.

I believe this
is called Thunder Hole (Yes, it does have a name!). What I remember is
that, at a certain time of day (I believe it is high tide), the water
comes into the alcove and shoots skyward to a significant height. It is
one of things to see at Acadia National Park. I took this picture (and
the one at the bottom of the page and the one of me on the first page)
at this spot at the Park on the cold and gloomy Saturday. At this point
in the day, however, the sun was beginning to make its appearance.

View of Acadia
National Park from the boat trip (on that cold and gloomy Saturday). This
is a view of the south side of the island/Park.

This picture
was also taken on the cold Saturday, but after the sun had decided to
emerge. The place is next to the alcove where the seawater is propelled
skyward (see the picture, above).
