The GeysersOld Faithful Geyser, Yellowstone National Park There is a lot to see and do in Yellowstone National Park. However, Yellowstone National Park contains about 2/3's of the worlds geysers, so that is something you just can't not see while you are there. Not sure about the springs and pools and such that go with them but all of them combined lend the air a decided spoiled egg smell. Not unbearable, just unpleasant. And a smell I have not had the pleasure of encountering anywhere else. The scalding hot water, a big part of all of this, is continually heated by magma beneath the earth's surface; a large part of Yellowstone itself in part of a collapsed caldera of a super volcano.
