The WildlifeBison, Upper Geyser Basin, Yellowstone NationalPark The BirdsI saw birds everywhere - well think about it, you do too. At Grand Teton National Park, there were many bald eagles (no pictures of those, unfortunately) and at Glacier Nationa Park, the Ptarmigens which, I found out, is the state bird of Alaska. The GoatsThe goats I saw were at Glacier National Park on the trail to Hidden Lake. The trail is located at Logan Pass, on the continental divide. The DeerDeer are everywhere, even in San Diego country (where I live). Here are the deer I saw far from home. The ElkElk were prevalent throughout Yellowstone National Park. In fact, they came quite close to and actually entered the campground several times. As long as you left them alone, they left you alone. The BisonBison (aka Buffalo) were all over Yellowstone National Park. I stayed at Madison campground (on the western side of the Park) and frequently saw bison around the Fire Hole river (immediately south and within walking distance of the campground) and on the road to Old Faithful. The MarmitsMarmits are also prevalent throughout the west, especially in the mountainous places. |
